Obituary of Anthony W. "Tony" Stefancic

 Anthony W. "Tony" Stefancic, age 79 of New Stanton, PA, died unexpectedly Saturday (1/27/2018) at his home. Mr. Stefancic was born December 23, 1938 in Manns Choice, Bedford County, PA, the son of the late Anton and Mary Sluger Stefancic. He was a 1956 graduate of Shade Central City High School. Tony served in the United States Army from 1960 until 1964. He had been employed as a Dispatch Operator for the Wilson Freight Co. until his retirement. He is survived by his loving family: his longtime, loving companion of 29 years, Dianna Rossi Barnes, his children; Gina Rembold and her husband Richard of Meyersdale, James A. Stefancic and his wife Lisa of Mt. Pleasant, his step daughter, Jennifer Barnes of Greensburg, his beloved grandchildren; Katherine Thompson and Steven, Kellie Rembold and Matt, Nicole Whipkey and Mike and Jimmy Stefancic and Jarah, and by his great grandchildren, Riley Stefancic and Brooke Whipkey. Tony is also survived by his sister in law, Irene Porok of Florida. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his 3 infant children and by his brother, Frank Porok. Honoring Tony's wishes, there will be no hours of public visitation. Funeral services will be private.
