Obituary of Bettie Louise East

Bettie Louise East, age 91 of Donegal, PA, died Thursday (3/22/2018) at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. East was born April 15, 1926 in Howard County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Mickey and Thelma Deck Degraffenreid. She was Methodist by faith. Bettie was a loving and kind lady, and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Bettie is survived by her loving family: her devoted husband of 72 years and five months, Robert E. East, her children; Patty Hurst and her husband, Richard and Mickey E. East and his wife, Tina, all of Donegal, her six grandchildren; Niki, Greg, Tonya, Cassidy, Mason and David and by her great grandchildren; Kiersten, Kayla, Kyle, Mattie, Lily, R.J., Melanie and Kyle. Bettie is also survived by her sister, Suzanne Cook of Kokomo, IN and by her extended family; Robert  Joseph East, Rita, Lynda, Wayne, Wade, Arty, Josh, Justin, Cherish, Sandra, Julie, Chase, Peyton, Crystal, Rose, Gabby and Carmen, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Bettie was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Jane East, and by her brothers, William and Daryl Degraffenreid and Pat Smith. Family and friends will be received Monday from 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Additional visitation will be held Tuesday from 12-noon until the time of her Funeral Service at 1:00 PM in the Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ron Dugan officiating.
