Obituary of Marion P. Fontanazza, Jr.

Marion P. Fontanazza Jr., age 64 of Scottdale PA, died Tuesday (04/24/2018) in Excela Health-Westmoreland Hospital Greensburg, PA.

Mr. Fontanazza was born in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of Marion P. Fontanazza, Sr. of Mt. Pleasant and the late Sarah Lawson Fontanazza. Marion was a member of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church of Scottdale He was a 1971 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Area High School, and was a life member of the Assunta Club.  Marion had been employed by Volkswagen of America for more ten years. He then attended Vale Technical Institute receiving his associate degree. After earning his degree he then worked in the automotive industry until his retirement as Service Manager for Meegan Ford.  He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast, and enjoyed Steeler’s and the Pens. Marion was a loving husband, father, and  grandfather who loved playing with hot wheels with his grandchildren. Marion is survived by his loving family; his father Marion, his wife of 39 years; Marlene Czilli Fontanazza. His children; Nicholas J. Fontanazza, Elizabeth Fontanazza and Shane Blatney. His grandchildren; NicholasFontanazza and Chase Blatney, who where the Joy of his life. Marion is also survived by his sister; Della Sechrist, Beverly Watkins, and Barbara Proud and Jim, and numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins and good friend Smitty. In addition to his mother, Marion was preceded in death by his brother Paul Snyder in May of 2014.

Family and friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Saturday   at 10:30 AM followed by Marion’s 11:00 AM funeral mass at Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev.
