George Farrell

Obituary of George V. Farrell

George “Sonny” Vieto Farrell Jr, 81, of Manor, formerly of Mt Pleasant, Pa, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 15, 2019..

George was born on March 30, 1938 in Mt Pleasant, Pa, the son of the late George Sr and Antonetta  “Dou” Mongelluzzo Farrell.

George joined the Air Force shortly out of high school and was stationed all over the world. While stationed in England he met his loving wife Patricia. They were married on Sept. 10, 1960. He was a loving, devoted husband and father who loved his family very much. After many moves to many countries, they returned to the USA where George finished his many years of service in the Air Force as a recruiter. After retiring from the Air Force he started his own company as a recruiter of doctors for hospitals. George loved his weekly golf outings with family and friends and trips to the casino with his wife to see their special friends. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved the beauty of nature. He mostly loved any time he could spend with family, especially with his grandchildren who he loved very much. He was a very caring, generous man who was always there to lend a hand to help, be it fixing just about anything you needed or lending an ear to listen and give advice, you could always count on him. He always gave from his heart, putting everyone before himself and never wanting anything in return. George will always be remembered for his contagious smile, his outgoing personality, his kind and generous heart, his intelligent advice, his love for holding long conversations about everything, and being a jack of all trades.

He will forever be loved by his family and friends. George was very recently preceded in death by his wife Patricia. He is survived by his children Kim (Pete) Gidaro, of Harrison City and Karen Farrell, of Greensburg and by his beloved grandchildren, Derek Ciarkowski, of Greensburg, Amanda Ciarkowski, of Newport News, VA and Juliana Gidaro, of Harrison City. He is also survived by his sister Cynthia Sowers, of Mt Pleasant and his brother Tom (Karen Sue) Farrell, of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother in law Jerry Sowers, of Mt Pleasant.
