Obituary of Alice M. Connors
Alice M. Connors, age 87, of Mount Pleasant, died Monday morning, November 22, 2010 at the Harmon House, Mount Pleasant.
Alice was born March 22, 1923 at Donegal, the daughter of the late George and Mary Ellen Tedrow Harr. She is a member of The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Mount Pleasant and is a 1941 graduate of the former East Huntingdon High School, a 1944 graduate of Frick Memorial School of Nursing, also received a B.S. Degree in 1971 from California University of Pennsylvania. Alice is a veteran of the U.S. Army having served as 1st Lt. during World War II with the 300th General Hospital. Prior to retirement, Alice had been employed by the Frick Community Hospital, Mount Pleasant School District, Westmoreland Manor, and was a volunteer Red Cross Nurse for 45 years.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her first husband John J. Komarny in 1966 and her second husband John F. Connors Sr. in 1997 and also a brother, Thomas E. Harr in 1977.
Surviving are her children, son John R. Komarny and wife Paulette of Falls Church, VA, a stepson John F. Connors and wife Lois Arlene of Hampshire, IL, a daughter, Judith Fosbrink and husband Robert of Everson, and stepdaughter Dixie Lee Scobbie and husband John of Greenville. Also survived by her brother; Robert Harr and his wife Irene of Acme. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, Inc., 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant on Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM where her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday with Vicar Karen C. Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Ridge Memorial Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by members of the American Legion Post 446.
