My wife and I were saddened to find out of Tom's passing tonight. I new something was wrong when his Lake Lure Cabin disappeared off of VRBO. I called and texted him to no avail and new something wasn't right. Googling his name tonight I became aware of his passing. We never met Tom in person but first stayed at his beautiful Cabin in the sky around 7 years ago. Tom was a kind, gracious host with a big heart. It spoke to his character and the kind of man Tom was. After our first stay we new we would be back and stayed there 4-5 times over the last 7 years building a great relationship with Tom. One main reason we kept coming back to his cabin was not only because of the cabin itself but also because of our relationship with him. He and I spoke about Lake Lure Real Estate, the NFL and his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, the sunrises from his cabin (see attached taken by my wife last year) and how we would love to meet in person some time and share a meal and a few drinks together. Unfortunately that won't happen now. My wife and I want to send our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to his friends and family. May the Lord Bless him and may he find peace in heaven.
