Obituary of Joseph James Bert

Scottdale, Joseph James Bert Jr., age 64 of Scottdale, PA, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday (02/15/11) at his home. Mr. Bert was born December 3, 1946 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Joseph J. and Jennie LoGrande Bert, Sr. Joe attended Mt. Pleasant Area High School. He worked in the kitchen at Westmoreland Manor and most recently was employed by King's Family Restaurant. Joe's favorite hobby was assembling Model Cars and ships. He loved spending hours adding to his collection. Joe is survived by his loving family: his sister, Barbara Reboy and her husband Robert of Scottdale and by his brother, David A. Bert and his wife Elizabeth of Mt. Pleasant. He is also survived by his nieces and nephew; Lisa Reboy, Kelley Brautigam, Justine Henry, Celeste Reboy and Joshua D. Bert. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his son Edgar Bert in 2000. Family and friends will be received Friday from 6 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A Blessing will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 9:30AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. The Mount Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department will meet at the Funeral Home Friday at 7:00 PM.
