Obituary of James D. Paul

James D. “Jimmy” Paul Sr., 93, of Mt. Pleasant Twp., died Sunday May 21, 2023 in Excela-Health Westmoreland Hospital.  James was born January 2, 1930 in Mt. Pleasant to the late William Penn and Josephine Citro Paul.

Jimmy was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church.  He was a graduate of East Huntington High School class of 1948.  Jimmy served his country in the United States Army, and after returning he opened one of the first curb services in the 1950’s “Jimmy Pauls”.  He continued to co-own the restaurant with his late wife Patty for more than 50 years.  He also worked as a stone mason and was a 50 year member of the cement finishers union.  Jimmy enjoyed cooking, gardening, his dogs, and spending time with his family. 

Jimmy is survived by his loving children, Diane Paul, Randall Paul (Deborah), James W. Paul Jr., Tina Marquez, Carol Paul, Karen Paul (Ronald), and Andrea Peronne (Michel); his grandchildren, Celeste Paul, Angela Alario, Anthony Paul, Marc Woody, Carine Marquez, and Chance Fouquier; his seven great-grandchildren; and by his siblings, Joan Ponzurick, Ronald Paul (Doris), and Samuel Paul (Rita).  In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Patricia Ann Malinowski Paul; his granddaughter, Jenae Marquez; and by his siblings, Leonora, Gloria, William, and Lawrence. 

Family and friends will be received Tuesday May 23^rd from 3:00 to 7:00 PM in Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant.  A blessing service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:30 AM followed by his funeral mass at 11:00 AM in St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to your local humane society, in loving memory of James D.
