I just saw Mario’s obituary this evening. I was sad to find out he was no longer with us I have known him all of my life. My father, Alfred L Vento, also know as Fred or Freddie Vento and Mario were lifelong friends. They knew each other as children and remained friends until my father passed away unexpectedly in 2004. I am sure he missed my dad dearly as they talked on the phone often as well as met at least weekly on Saturdays for years. They both enjoyed watching the races, betting on the horses, and swimming! They were quite a duo, they enjoyed life and had fun together! I learned from them how to be loyal to a friend and how to make time to maintain a long term friendship. God Bless the Anzelone Family. Joe, know your father loved you. He talked about you often to my dad. Until we all meet again … Mary Ann Vento Clayton

I knew Mario from the YMCA. I saw him there many mornings and was always happy to see him. On Mondays I would often ask Mario if he was going to Spaghetti Night at the Parkwood Inn. I will miss Mario.

Everyone you shared your smile with, everyone you shared our pool with, will miss you terribly. The pool deck here at our YMCA will never be the same without you. I hope you are swimming in the placid waters of Heaven my friend. May God Bless your family and friends the way your kindness blessed all of us. Thank you for all the great times.

I use to live across the hall from Mario. He was so kind to me and always made me laugh. In the winter, when he was cleaning off his car to go to the YMCA, I would find that he had cleaned my car off as well. One night he let me sleep on his recliner because I thought there was a mouse in my apartment. Mario would often tell me how proud he was of his son and his grandchildren. I will missing knowing Mario is on this earth but I know he is with the Lord and we will see him again. My condolences to Mario's family. May God grant you peace and courage at this difficult time.
