Obituary of Jean (Crawford) Shaw

 Jean (Crawford) Shaw, age 92 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Friday (12/29/2017) in the Excela Health-Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, PA.

Mrs. Shaw was born May 12, 1925 in Lemont Furnace, PA, the daughter of the late Paul and Margaret Matthews Crawford. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant, and the United Methodist Women. Jean had been employed as a Teachers Aid, and Library Assistant for more than 23 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Order of the Amaranth. Jean had also been active working with the Salvation Army and the Community Women's Club. She taught swimming for more than 50 years, privately and through the WMCA of Scottdale.

Jean is survived by her loving family: her children; Nancy Youngdahl and her husband David of Grove City, Deborah M. Shaw of Stoughton, WI and Stevan R. Shaw and his wife Nancy of Mt. Pleasant, by her daughter in law, Beth A. Horrell Shaw of Mt. Pleasant ,her beloved grandchildren; Brian Youngdahl, Deanna Shaw, Deborah Groover, and Christopher Shaw and by her great grandchildren, Alayna Shaw and Lucas Youngdahl. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde M. Shaw, Sr. in 1997, her son, Clyde M. Shaw, Jr. in 2017 and by her brother, Raymond Crawford.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2 until 8PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Jean will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the First United Church of Christ, Main and Hitchman Streets, Mt. Pleasant, with her pastor, the Rev. Bob Ellson officiating.
