I'm so sorry to hear of Ethel's passing. She was my grandmother's favorite cousin (Ruth Bilonick) and while they didn't see each other that often, they stayed in touch and Grammy always talked about how wonderful Ethel was. And I feel lucky to have met Ethel--I was always amazed when we talked on the phone with the stories of her trips with her great-nieces--such adventures that she treasured! We are all better having known Ethel. May your memories hold her close to your heart and give you peace.

We extend our deepest sympathy to all of Ethel's family. In her job as a supervisor of the Stenographic Department at West Penn, many, many of we young girls fresh out of high school got our first experience at being employed and received much guidance from Ethel on what was expected and in doing our very best to progress in the company. She was dear to many of us. I speak for myself and for my sister, Diane Lomicka French, who followed a couple years after me to Cabin Hill to do the same. My husband Lawrence Haynes was also employed at Cabin Hill as an engineer, and was familiar with her. We were glad to have re-established communication over the last few years after contacting her on a special birthday as suggested by an email received from the Allegheny Alumni group. I was delighted to receive a lovely note in response from her which led to occasional correspondence, and we then were able to visit in person at a Christmas gathering, and at the most recent West Penn Reunion last November. She never ceased to amaze us at the strength and stamina she had to continue to go on and stay involved in life in her advanced years, and, she always looked so lovely...always dressed so nicely, her hair styled and a light touch of makeup. She is an inspiration to us all that a full, rich life remains possible as long as one is alive and remains grateful and positive. She considered every day a blessing, as we all should. We will miss her, but will look forward to seeing her again. God bless.

Every once in awhile you meet a person of true integrity. Ethel was such a person. I spoke to her a few months ago and she seemed as happy as ever and full of love. She never let a day go by without telling me how much she appreciated our efforts for the Glass Museum and how she enjoyed coming to the events. She always had an interesting story to tell us.
Thank you Ethel for being who you were. We need more like you. The earth would be a better place. So would Mount Pleasant.

I have very fond memories of working for Ms. Cooper at West Penn back in the 1970's. She was truly a kind lady and perfectionist. God Bless.

I'm just one of the many, many lives she touched in her years at West Penn Power. She was a role model and mentor before we knew what those terms meant. I feel very blessed to have known her. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

Oh Miss Cooper. When I think of the good ol' West Penn Power, I will always think of you. You had a truly graceful, classy presence that you don't find much any more. You were the definition of professionalism and possessed that rare charm that always made everyone feel welcome and important. I will treasure the talks we had. Family and friends meant so much to you, especially "Doll". My deepest sympathy to you all. But my, what a life so very well-lived.
