Obituary of Louis Edward Michalsky
Louis Edward Michalsky Jr., age 70 of Centerville, OH, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday (05/25/2019) in the Hospice of Dayton, Dayton, OH.
Mr. Michalsky was born October 4, 1948 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Louis and Adelheid Fuhsey Michalsky. He was a member of the former Transfiguration Parish of Mt. Pleasant. Lou joined the United States Air Force in 1967 where he proudly served his country for 20 years. He loved to travel and served 16 of his 20 years in assignments overseas, his favorite being the time he spent in Spain. After retiring from active duty, he continued to work for the Department of Defense as a Security Specialist at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Lou had a passion for golf. He was a member of several golf groups and looked forward to getting outdoors for the season each year. He was able to combine his love for travel and for golf during his annual golfing trips with his dear friends. Lou loved the Oldies and Motown music and was a self-proclaimed good dancer. He was known for his quick wit, determination and lighthearted spirit. Lou was a loving father and a trusted friend.
He is survived by his loving family: his children; David J. Michalsky of Fairborn, OH, and Lauren R. Michalsky of Beavercreek, OH, Stephanie and Andrea Michalsky, and by his brother, David Michalsky and nephew, Andrew Michalsky, both of Mount Pleasant.
Lou was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister in law Beth Harenchar Michalsky.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 4 to 6 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant.
A blessing service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant.
